Sonia Gandhi celebrated her birthday today with her son Rahul Gandhi and daughter Priyanka Gandhi at the Ranthambore National Park.
With her head covered in a scarf and dressed in winter clothes, Sonia Gandhi sat with the driver in the front of the safari jeep while Rahul Gandhi was seen sitting behind her with the security officers. The Gandhis even saw tigers at the national park.
Wishes poured in for 76-year-old Gandhi, with Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge saying her “indomitable spirit” in the wake of adversity has inspired millions.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also greeted Gandhi and tweeted: “Birthday greetings to Smt. Sonia Gandhi Ji. Praying for her long and healthy life.”
The Congress, from its official Twitter handle, said, “Warm birthday wishes to Sonia Gandhi who epitomizes sacrifice, courage and dedication. Her sense of duty and grace is an inspiration.”
Several top Congress leaders, including party general secretary KC Venugopal, Sachin Pilot, Randeep Surjewala and Shashi Tharoor, also wished the former party chief on her birthday.
