Handwara, April 2: The residents of Baderkali and Wadipora have expressed serious concerns over the dilapidated condition of the Baderkali-Wadipora road, which connects to the famous Baderkali Mata shrine. The poor state of the road is causing immense hardships for commuters, especially patients, schoolchildren, and daily travelers.
The residents have appealed to the Lieutenant Governor’s administration and MLA Handwara for immediate intervention to address this long-pending issue.
While speaking on the matter, Executive Engineer R&B Handwara, Er. Farooq A. Shah, stated that a Detailed Project Report (DPR) has already been submitted for the road, with an estimated cost of over ₹4 crore. Acknowledging the significance of the road, he assured that patching work has been assigned to the AEE as a temporary measure until the new project is officially launched.
The residents hope that the administration will expedite the approval process and ensure early execution of the repair work to alleviate their suffering.
