Srinagar, 08 April (Gulistan News TV): Waheeda Rehmat, the maternal aunt of renowned Kashmiri journalist, writer and editor Fahad Shah, passed away late Monday night, April 7, 2025, at the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura, following a brief illness.
A resident of Illahi Bagh, Buchpora Srinagar, Waheeda Rehmat was the wife of Late Ghulam Jeelani Reshi. She had been undergoing treatment at SKIMS for the past week.
The journalist fraternity has expressed its deep condolences to Fahad Shah during this difficult time. Friends, relatives and colleagues of the bereaved family have also extended their sympathies, praying for eternal peace to the departed soul.
Her funeral prayers were attended by a large number of people, reflecting the deep respect and affection she commanded in her community.
