Police arrested a man for murdering his wife in Chua Chak village of Bishnah in Jammu district.
A police spokesperson said, “Police received news from its reliable sources that one person namely Mohd Rashid, who is a resident of Chua Chak Bishnah, murdered his wife today i.e., May 20, 2024. The deceased woman was identified as Shamshad Begum.”
The police acted swiftly and succeeded in apprehending the accused husband immediately after the incident, who also tried to harm himself, just after committing this gruesome murder, but was later overpowered by the police and apprehended, the spokesperson said.
“The scene of crime was properly preserved; the crime photography team and FSL team were summoned on the spot, to pick up the vital evidence so that the accused could be connected with the offence,” he added.
The body of the deceased was taken to Sub District Hospital Bishnah, where her post-mortem was conducted by a board of doctors. “Further investigation of the case is going on,” police said.
