Kathua administration plans to upgrade tourist amenities around Ujh Barrage

To tap the tourism potential of the area in and around Ujh Barrage, Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rahul Pandey today chaired a meeting here in DC Office complex to discuss modalities with the stakeholder departments.
At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner enquired about the already existing tourism sector infrastructure at the site of Ujh Barrage. He was apprised that the tourism department has 60 kanal land while RTIC has 40 kanal of land near the Barrage which can be used to raise facilities on the already existing infra for the tourist.
The directions were passed to the CEO Lakhanpur Sarthal Development Authority (LSDA) to submit the proposal for development of the area including amenities for the tourists besides exploring the potential of water sports facilities so as to make the area an attractive tourist destination.
The DC called upon the officers of Tourism, Floriculture, and RTIC to share their proposed rejuvenation plan for Ujh Barrage so that the same can be taken up with higher authorities to seek approval at the earliest.
