Srinagar, April 25, 2025 : Shri Rahul Gandhi, Hon’ble Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, arrived in Srinagar today to express solidarity with the victims of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of 26 innocent civilians and left several others injured.

Demonstrating deep concern and empathy, Shri Gandhi cut short his overseas visit to return to the country and stand by the people of Jammu & Kashmir in this hour of grief. He will be meeting the injured victims undergoing treatment and the families of those who lost their lives in the cowardly attack.

Before leaving for Srinagar, Shri Gandhi participated in the all-party meeting convened by the Hon’ble Prime Minister to discuss the national response to this tragedy. Reiterating the Indian National Congress’s commitment to national security, he assured full support to the government’s efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Speaking to the media prior to his departure, Shri Gandhi stated, “This attack on innocent lives is an attack on the soul of India. We stand united as a nation against terrorism. My heart goes out to the victims and their families.”

Shri Gandhi will also meet with local officials and review the ground situation to ensure adequate assistance is reaching those affected.

The Indian National Congress condemns this heinous act in the strongest terms and urges all parties to come together in defense of peace, unity, and justice.
