A 33-year-old woman along with her three children jumped into a water tank in Haryana’s Nuh on Tuesday.
While all the three children died on the spot, only the woman survived. She was taken out of the tank in a critical condition and has been admitted to Nalhar medical college.
The incident happened around 12 pm in Kherla village in Nuh district.The woman, identified as Shakunat, jumped into the tank to end her life, said police, adding that neighbours rushed to the scene after hearing the cries of the children.
The deceased children have been identified as Shabana (10), Saad (8), and 4-month-old Ikrar.
“We have lodged a case based on the complaint of Mohammad Aarif, the husband of the woman, and handed over the victims’ bodies after their post mortem. A further probe is underway,” said Inspector Bharat Singh, SHO, city police station, Nuh, PTI reported.
