Employees in UK can soon ask for flexible working from Day 1 of job

The United Kingdom’s government announced on Monday that workers would now have the right to request flexible working from the first day of their jobs.

This decision was taken in light of the fact that millions of individuals in the UK were working from homein the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Now, the UK government has given leverage to its workers to work flexibly which included working from home, job-sharing, compressed hours, flexitime and part-time and term-time-only working.The law also stated, approximately 1.5 million low-wage workers, including some gig economy employees, students, and caregivers, would benefit from this new law that would allow the workers to supplement their income by working a second job if they desired.
