District Development Commissioner Rajouri Vikas Kundal today chaired a meeting of the concerned officers to review the solid waste management scenario in rural areas of the district.
During the meeting, the DDC sought the status of construction of segregation sheds and availability of other requirements for effective Waste Management. It was informed that the work of 70 segregation sheds has been alloted and work on 51 has been started. Stress was laid on allotment completion of all proposed segregation sheds within the shortest possible time.
He also reviewed the progress of construction of soakage pits and asked to complete the geo-tagging of the same.
It was also informed in the meeting that door to door collection of waste has been started in most of the blocks and efforts were being made to cover all the panchayats within shortest possible time.
Similarly, the DDC also reviewed the progress on implementation of ODF Plus plan and asked the concerned department to work with a missionary spirit so that the aim of the mission was achieved in the district.
