Airtel 5G services have gone live in UP’s capital city Lucknow, Bharti Airtel has officially announced. The Airtel 5G Plus went live on October 6 in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Siliguri, Nagpur and Varanasi. Earlier in November, Airtel claimed that it had crossed over 1 million users on its 5G networks across India. Now, Airtel 5G Plus is live in various parts of Lucknow giving Airtel users a chance to enjoy high-speed internet connectivity for free. Interestingly, Jio 5G isn’t live yet which gives Airtel the first-movers advantage in Lucknow.
Airtel users in Lucknow will be able to use the Airtel 5G Plus network without any hassle and until the rollout is widespread, the 5G network will remain free. The Airtel 5G service is currently live in the following locations in Lucknow and will be rolled out to other regions in the coming weeks.

How to activate Airtel 5G Plus?
- Go to the Settings menu in your phone and choose SIM or Connectivity option
- Change the preferred network type to 5G, if it’s not automatically selected
- Download the Airtel Thanks app from Play Store or App Store
- Tap the 5G Plus banner and it will check for 5G compatibility on your phone and in your region
- If you are in an area with Airtel 5G connectivity, you will be able to switch to Airtel 5G Plus instantly without incurring any extra cost.
