The Ayushman Bharat Golden Card issued by the Jammu and Kashmir Health Department under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) SEHAT provided respite to a 70-year-old man after his tumour was removed by the doctors in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

A health official told the news that an elderly patient from Lower Munda area of Anantnag slept on his back after a long period of 16 years.

He said the man having a slow growing tumour in his lower back, which grew to enormous size of a soccer ball (24 cm/20cm/16cm) was actually not allowing him to lie on his back.

He said the patient was operated at Al-Hayaat hospital Anantnag under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) SEHAT scheme and his surgery was conducted by a team of doctors led by Dr Malik Azad along with Anesthesia team headed by Dr Sajad Ahmad.the patient Ghulam Mohammad Ganie said the tumor on his back side was not big in size in the early stage, but the size increased with the passage of time.
