After Apple unveiled its iPhone 15 series at the annual event in Cupertino, users have swiftly raised concerns about overheating and unexpected shutdowns. More recently, reports circulating on the internet indicate instances of screen burning in the new smartphones.
Screen burning refers to permanent discoloration appearing on any part of the screen panel. Discussions on platforms like Reddit and Apple’s forum have seen users flagging problems related to their iPhone 15 screens.
One Reddit user shared their experience, stating, “I received my iPhone 15 Pro Max on release day and have been enjoying it. While I had heard about some people experiencing burn-in issues, I didn’t notice anything until a few nights ago when I started to see what looked like ghosting. Upon closer inspection, it’s definitely burn-in.”
They continued, “Displaying a dark gray image at low brightness really brings it out. I’ll likely visit the Apple Store this week to see what can be done about it. The first image is a bit exaggerated but directly from another iPhone’s camera. The second image better represents what it looks like to the naked eye.”
Another user named joshmcx echoed the sentiment, saying, “I have the same issue. Apple will replace it. It seems relatively uncommon, I’ve seen about 5 reports in total. But it’s certainly a real issue with the 15 Pro Max, something the previous generations haven’t had.”
A comment on Apple’s discussion thread by a user named TheLittles reads, “”iPhone 15 Pro Max screen burn: Wow! It’s been two weeks. This is the worst phone ever released by Apple.” As of now, Apple has not issued any official statement regarding the screen burn problem.
