In continuation of the efforts to eradicate the Menace of Drugs from the society, District Police Shopian arrested one drug peddler in the jurisdiction of Police Station Shopian.
A police party from Police Station Shopian established a checkpoint at Batapora Shopian during naka checking one person was found in suspicious condition and was apprehended tactfully during his personal search contraband substance weighing 62 grams Charas was recovered from his possession.
The person disclosed his identity as Mohd Ishaq Khanday @Hie Khanday S/O Gh Qadir Khanday resident of Khanday Mohallah Bonbazar Shopian. A case, FIR No.181/2024 under relevant Sections of the NDPS Act, has been registered at Police Station Shopian. Further investigation is underway to unearth the forward and backward linkages of the arrested individual.
