Sushmita Sen is basking in the acclaim for her recent web series ‘Taali.’ In an interview with Humans of Bombay, Sushmita candidly shared her perspective on love, emphasizing that it’s not about projection but about the concept that ‘loving another is loving oneself.’ She also discussed the paramount importance of freedom in her life.

Reflecting on validation, Sushmita discussed her career journey and personal philosophy. Addressing the idea of seeking validation, she remarked, ‘I find happiness in this space because it aligns with my nature. My freedom is of utmost importance… I value my freedom to be authentic and voice my thoughts.’ She highlighted her growth from a mindset of needing someone to ‘complete’ her to realizing her self-completeness. Sushmita emphasized that true validation comes from the courage to face oneself in the mirror.

In the same interview, Sushmita delved into her perception of love, viewing it as an integral part of her identity. She explained that her connection to love goes beyond mere projection or emotion; it’s about embodying love in every aspect of life. According to her, loving another person equates to loving oneself, reflecting a deep sense of self-love at a fundamental level.

In ‘Taali,’ Sushmita portrays Shreegauri Sawant, a character inspired by the life and challenges of a transgender activist. Beyond her on-screen role, Sushmita is a real-life mother to two daughters—Renee, whom she adopted in 2000, and Alisah, her second adopted daughter whom she welcomed in 2010.
