Security forces have launched a search operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district after reports of two terrorists moving through Salampura village. The operation began following sightings of the suspects, dressed in black, near Dehra Ki Gali on Monday night.
Police, along with Rashtriya Rifles and CRPF, have cordoned off the area and are searching for the terrorists, who were last seen heading towards lower Pangai. The operation has also extended to surrounding areas including Sanai, Jangal, Pattan, and parts of the Drabshalla forest in Kishtwar district.
Over 4,000 soldiers, including elite commandos and mountain warfare experts, have been deployed to tackle the threat. This action follows recent ambushes and attacks attributed to a group of 40-50 foreign terrorists active in the region.
