The School Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir has ordered the replacement of physical tasks with electronic ones by transitioning to e-office mode by March 31 at the directorate level up to the CEO level, and by April 30 at the zonal and cluster head levels, respectively.
Administrative Secretary of the School Education Department, Piyush Singla, directed all subordinate offices of the department to immediately switch to e-office mode.
In a circular issued on Thursday, Singla mandated that the transition to e-office mode, from the directorate level to the CEO level, must be completed before March 31, and at the zonal and cluster head levels by or before April 30, respectively.
The circular stated, “To ensure a complete switch to e-office mode, from physical files and Daks, all subordinate offices of the School Education Department are required to switch to e-office mode immediately and complete the entire process as per the directives.”
Singla further stated that Directors should identify areas and assignments where records need to be routed through both physical and online modes, as necessary.
The circular also noted that the government and the General Administration Department had previously directed all departments to switch to e-office mode of working, with assistance and support from the IT department, including VPN connections, creation of jk.gov.in email IDs, and training of local admins, among other measures.
