The Indian team celebrated in style after reaching Mumbai in the evening. The Indian team reached Mumbai around 5:30 PM, flying out from New Delhi earlier in the day. India had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi after reaching home from Barbados. India participated in an open-top bus parade which commenced from the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA). It saw the fans thronged the streets, particularly at the Marine Drive, turning on their flashlights to create a mesmerising visual spectacle as the champions’ caravan progressed. In a heartwarming gesture, Virat Kohli, who has been a stalwart of Indian cricket, asked Rohit Sharma to come forward and lift the trophy together, symbolizing their united effort and team spirit.
