The remains of missing man suspected to be killed in a terrorist attack were found in the forest area of the Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Ramban Kulbir Singh, told that a missing report was lodged with the Police Station Batote by the family on August 13, following which searches were carried out but nothing was found.
“On Saturday evening, the relatives found a skull from the spot where he went missing,” he said, adding that a police team was also rushed to the spot, and the missing man, namely Maan Singh, 57, was identified with the help of clothes and shoes.
“The incident was suspected to be happened during an encounter on August 13 near the Patnitop Hills in the Batote area,” he added.
The top cop said that the DNA test is to be done to authenticate that the remains, as per the relatives, was of a missing person.
The security forces are already on alert, and the investigation is underway.
