Rainstorm in Himachal: The death toll in Himachal Pradesh increased to 74 after another body was recovered from the wreckage of a Shiva temple in Shimla. Two additional individuals were slain in the Chamba district on Thursday, according to officials.

21 of these deaths occurred in Shimla alone, in the Shiva temple in Summer Hill, as well as in Fagli and Krishnanagar. Eight persons are still believed to be buried beneath the temple debris.

Rescue operations at Shimla’s landslip areas are still ongoing. According to SP Gandhi, 14 bodies have been retrieved from Summer Hill, five from Fagli, and two from Krishnanagar.

According to the state emergency operations centre, two rain-related deaths have been reported in Chamba district, bringing the total number of deaths in the last four days to 74.

The Indian Army, Air Force, and other rescue services rescued 309 persons from flood-ravaged Fatehpur in Kangra district and Pong Dam in Indora. 2074 persons have been evacuated from these places in the previous three days.

Beginning on Sunday, the state saw torrential rains for three days. Since the start of the monsoon on June 24, 217 persons have perished in rain-related incidents in Himachal Pradesh.
