Noida Authority Cancels 14 Duplex Flats in Sector 135 due to Unpaid Dues

Officials announced on Wednesday that the Noida authority has revoked the allocation of 14 duplex flats in Sector 135, Noida due to the failure of allottees to settle their outstanding dues. In a meeting held on Monday, the Noida authority decided to take this step as a result of approximately ₹32 crore remaining unpaid despite repeated warnings and reminders.

Out of the 17 allottees in total, three individuals decided to take the matter to court, while the allotments of the remaining 14 were cancelled. These duplex flats were allotted on a 180-square-meter plot in Sector 135 between 2011 and 2016. Initially, a fixed amount was deposited, and the remaining balance was supposed to be paid in installments, as explained by officials.

Ritu Maheshwari, the chief executive officer of the Noida authority, stated, “The decision to cancel the allotment was made for those who failed to clear their dues. Despite multiple reminders and notices from the authority, the outstanding amount was not settled, leading to this action.”

The disposition of the deposited amount is yet to be determined by officials, whether it will be confiscated or returned to the allottees.
