Nine unexploded shells were discovered and safely destroyed in Ladakh following a coordinated effort involving local authorities and the military.

The shells were located at Chulitse Kulum in Kharu, after Councillor Sonam Thardos alerted the Sub-divisional Magistrate (SDM) to their presence. The SDM promptly engaged the Trishul Division of the Army, which dispatched engineers to handle the disposal operation. Accompanied by local police, the Army conducted a controlled explosion, neutralizing the shells without incident.

This successful operation averted any potential harm, underlining the importance of swift and decisive action in handling such hazards. The collaboration between civilian and military entities exemplifies the ongoing efforts to maintain safety and security in the region.
