CPI(M) Senior Leader and MLA Kulgam, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, has appealed to authorities to establish a Medical Council of India (MCI) examination centre in Kashmir, highlighting the significant difficulties faced by students from the Valley.
Taking to social media platform X, Tarigami expressed concerns over the challenges faced by Kashmir-based students who currently have to travel to distant centres in Noida, Samba and Amritsar to appear for the examination. He pointed out that the travel not only imposes substantial financial burdens but also creates logistical hardships for the aspirants.
In his post, Tarigami stated, “Kashmir-based students appearing for the MCI examination are calling for a centre in the Valley. Existing centres in Noida, Samba and Amritsar impose significant travel expenses and logistical challenges. Urging authorities to establish a local centre to ease these difficulties and support youth amidst rising unemployment and other challenges.”
