In a drive against landlords who did not inform Jammu police about the antecedents of their tenants, a landlord was nabbed yesterday on the basis of case FIR NO. 9/2024 under Section 188 of IPC as part of an ongoing drive in view of the upcoming Republic Day.
According to the report, a landlord who gave his house on rent to seven persons in Puran Nagar of Talab Tillo of Jammu city was arrested yesterday for not providing antecedents of his tenants to Talab Tillo police, following which police took action and lodge him in prison for avoiding police diktats.
The identity of the accused is not revealed by the police yet, while a probe has been initiated into this matter.
The police has warned of strict action if the landlords failed to provide information of their tenants to their respective nearby police stations in Jammu.
