Jammu-Kashmir: 100 more dengue cases reported
One hundred more cases of dengue were reported today from various parts of Jammu and Kashmir, taking the total number of cases so far this year to 4270.
A Health official said that 64 cases were reported today from Jammu district alone while 19 cases were reported from Udhampur, 8 from Samba, 3 cases each from Kathua and Reasi districts, 2 from Doda and 1 case from outside J&K. The positive patients include 81 adults and 19 children, he added.
He said maximum 2829 cases reported so far are from Jammu district followed by Udhampur district with 532 cases, Kathua with 334 cases and Samba with 279 cases.
“There were 77 cases in Rajouri, 45 each in Ramban and Reasi, 38 in Doda, 25 in Poonch, 7 in Kishtwar, 22 in Kashmir and 33 from other parts of the country,” the official said.
The official further informed that a total of 1353 dengue patients have been admitted to the hospitals till date and of these, 1226 have been discharged and 90 patients are still under treatment while as dengue has claimed four lives so far this season.
“The dengue cases are rising with each day,” the official said, and advised that citizens should ensure no stagnation of water in and around their houses as mosquitoes responsible for dengue breed in stagnant water.
