Tricolor in Doda: Indian Army on Thursday install a 100 feet tall National flag in the Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district. Major General Ajay Kumar unfurled the tallest flagpole at the Doda sports stadium along with the commander.
Major General said this tall flag is a tribute to all the soldiers of Chenab Valley for their ultimate sacrifices in keeping our country safeguarded. He said “The feeling of this national which is standing tall and beautiful cannot be expressed in words but is making every Indian proud.”
Locals, students and war widows who had gathered in large numbers to witness the historic event shared their views. They said “By inviting us to this event, the Army has made us feel proud of the achievements of my martyred husband. This is the beauty of our Army that they never forget the sacrifices of the soldiers and their families,” said Chinta Devi, wife of the most decorated soldier in the history of Indian Army Naib Subedar Chunni Lal.
Simran Sharma, a 14 years old student of Doda has said that she is fortunate to witness this historic event. She also added, I am enough lucky that Army has given me opportunity to perform in this historic occasion. This proud feeling of performing here will live with me for the rest of my life.
One of the students of Doda Degree college namely Tahir Farooq said that I am feeling proud of the installation of the jumbo flag as it reminds the time when there were no national flags seen anywhere due to terrorism.
