Former India head coach Ravi Shastri took a brutal dig at pitch detractors of the Nagpur Test, saying anyone who read or heard the pre-match chatter about the surface at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium would not have believed that a team could post 400 in an innings. Shastri’s comments came after India posted 400 in their first innings on a pitch that was touted to be a ‘minefield’ for batters.India showcased how to bat on the Nagpur pitch, posting 400 and taking a 223-run first innings lead.
