The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that there will be light rainfall in certain areas of Delhi on Friday. The anticipated temperatures for the day are approximately 36.7 degrees Celsius (which is three notches above normal) for the highest temperature and 27.5 degrees Celsius (one degree above normal) for the lowest temperature.

In the past 24 hours leading up to 8.30 am on Friday, there were light rains in the national capital. During this time, humidity levels ranged between 53% and 85%.

According to meteorological officials, Friday in Delhi will feature an overcast sky, along with the possibility of light drizzle in specific parts of the city.

The IMD has also made a forecast for thundershowers on Saturday, which will then subside into a light drizzle over the course of the weekend.

The primary surface wind in Delhi is expected to originate from the western direction, with a wind speed of 12-20 kmph. The sky will be cloudy, and there is a chance of intermittent drizzles.

Meanwhile, the air quality in Delhi remains in the moderate category, with an average air quality index (AQI) reading of 148 (moderate) at 10 am on Friday. This was a slight increase from the AQI of 131 (moderate) recorded at 4 pm on Thursday. The AQI is predicted to reach satisfactory levels over the weekend.

As per the classification by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), AQI values between 0 and 50 fall into the ‘good’ category, 51 to 100 is ‘satisfactory’, 101 to 200 is ‘moderate’, 201 to 300 is ‘poor’, 301 to 400 is ‘very poor’, and values exceeding 400 are considered ‘severe’.
