DJJM Doda imparts training on water testing using FTK

Mission Directorate Jal Jeevan Mission J&K in collaboration with District Jal Jeevan Mission Doda on Tuesday organized a Handholding Session here in the conference Hall of DC Office and imparted Training to participants in water testing by using Field Testing Kit. The event witnessed active participation of Paani Samiti members, Anganwadi workers, Asha Workers, Women FTK users, Women Self Help Groups, Teachers and PRIs. In all, about 250 stakeholders participated in the event. District Development Commissioner, Vishesh Mahajan was the chief guest.

At the onset of the programme, IEC Coordinator DPMU, Vivek Singh Jamwal welcomed the participants and briefed them about the JJM Mission and highlighted the role and responsibilities of Paani Samitis, importance of FTK in analysing and maintaining water resources and its quality.

Addressing the audience, the DDC stressed on the role and the support of PRIs particularly Pani Samitis in the effective implementation of JJM Schemes. “Their cooperation will greatly help in early completion of all the schemes under JJM, a flagship programme of the Government of India to provide HAR GHAR NAL SE JAL”, he said.

The other prominent guests included Executive Engineer Jal Shakti (PHE), Subash Chander Gupta; AEE, Doda East, Arshad Ahmed; AEE Doda West, Akhilesh Gupta; AE DPMU, Er Aamir Malik; JEs and other field staff.

Rawal Hussain Chemist District Water Testing Lab and his team demonstrated FTK and trained Paani Samiti members and about 250 other participants present over there.

The programme concluded with felicitation of best performing stakeholders including Chairman Paani Samiti, Best Engineer and Best Chemist.
