Delegation of aspiring candidates for vacant posts of teachers, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) artist from Kargil & Gen Secretary BJYM Ladakh call on Hon’ble Lt Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd)

A delegation of aspiring candidates for the vacant posts of teachers from Leh led by Smt Dechen Chuskit called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at Raj Niwas.

Smt Chuskit informed HLG that several aspiring candidates with Bachelor of Education (BEd) degrees and Centre Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) certificates are looking forward to appearing in the examination for the recruitment of vacant posts of 142 teachers advertised by Leh Autonomous Hill Development Subordinate Services Recruitment Board. She requested HLG not to make any relaxation in the norms. She further requested HLG for his intervention in ensuring verifying the credentials of the candidates while applying on the online portal of the District Subordinate Service Recruitment Board (DSSRB) Leh and also the need to give weightage to candidates with teaching aptitude and pedagogy. Smt Chuskit requested HLG not to re-advertise the teaching posts or cancel the examination as the age limit of candidates who have cleared CTET would soon expire.
HLG stated that teachers should be appropriately qualified so that they can provide quality education to students. He assured the aspiring candidates that the decision keeping the best interest of the students and the overall benefit of Ladakh would soon be taken by the Administration.
Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) artist Shri Mehdi Nasiri along with the President of the MMA Association of Ladakh and General Secretary, BJYM Ladakh, Shri Mohd Hussain Tanmir called on the HLG at Raj Niwas. Shri Mehdi informed about India’s first-ever MMA reality series ‘Kumite 1 Warrior Hunt won by him. He apprised HLG of his participation in the Asian Championship to be held this year. He requested for a coach and proper training equipment to prepare for the event. HLG congratulated him on his achievement and encouraged him to win the Asian Championship. He inquired about his training camps and the steps being taken to check his progress. He assured of all possible assistance to Shri Mehdi.
General Secretary, BJYM Ladakh, Shri Tanmir requested HLG for raising an army regiment on the lines of Ladakh Scouts; the establishment of Sainik School at Kargil; permanent employment of casual labourers in Ladakh; extension of all centrally-sponsored schemes in Ladakh; the need for developing infrastructure of University of Ladakh campus along with its constituent colleges; engaging local labourers instead of labourers from outside Ladakh in project works of Project Vijayak and Project Himank and developing Drass as a tourist destination, and promotion of wild tulip of mushkoo vally, Drass to gurez road should be opened for tourist and locals.
HLG assured to look into the matter.
