DC Srinagar holds Public Grievance Redressal Camp at Harwan

Continuing the efforts to take Administration to the doorsteps of the people to propel the development mission to saturate the requirements of general public, the Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar Mohammad Aijaz Asad today held a Block Diwas at Harwan Block of the District.
On the occasion, the local people, PRI members putforth their Developmental demands and issues confronted by them regarding infrastructural and road connectivity needs besides individual beneficiary schemes and issues related to the wildlife and forest departments.
While projecting the grievances of public interest before the Deputy Commissioner, PRIs demanded operation of the filtration plant at Dhara, pension verification, construction of Panchayat Ghar, fixing of responsibility to the concerned department for snow clearance, and compensation to fire victims.
Responding to the demands raised by people, DC assured that all those issues shall be resolved in time bound manner. Regarding grievance of old age pension seeker, DC directed concerned officers to create awareness among the people about the concerned office and location where they shall be able to submit documents without facing further inconvenience.
He also cleared concern of people about allocating only a single sheep unit in Dhara and asked for submitting for more applications. DC stated that the allotting of sheep units is happening through draw of lots and participants are selected through a transparent process.
Also, Assad dispelled concern regarding snow clearance in the area and said that government has notified the jurisdiction of snow clearance between SMC and R&B and locals should not worry about it.
Deputy Commissioner said that the compensation have been approved for the fire victims and same shall be disbursed to them very soon.
The DC appreciated the people for the active participation in the Block Diwas, which he called a viable and much need requirement for progress of the area.
Further, he also issued direction to the officers of various departments including social welfare, revenue and district administration for addressing the grievances of locals at the earliest.
Among others, the Block Diwas was attended by ACD, Srinagar, Tehsildar, DBO, ZEO, besides officers of other line departments.
Later, Deputy Commissioner visited Mulnar Harwan where he inaugurated the Micro Irrigation System developed under the aspirational Block scheme under capex 2022-23 spread over 20 kanals of land.
The Micro Irrigation System was developed by the soil conservation wing of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
