DC Kishtwar hands over financial assistance Authority Letters to 22 eligible beneficiaries

District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Dr. Devansh Yadav today handed over the financial assistance Authority Letters to 22 beneficiaries under J&K Cancer treatment and management fund for poor (CTMFFP) here in his Office Chamber.
On the occasion, the beneficiaries thanked the LG Jammu & Kashmir Govt for extending the financial assistance/ medical assistance to them at this crucial time.
They said that J&K’s health sector has gone through a sea change ensuring high-quality affordable, accessible healthcare for all.
They also extended gratitude to District Development Commissioner Kishtwar for taking concrete steps to extend the benefit of such beneficiary schemes to the needy and poor people of Kishtwar in a transparent and prompt manner.
Pertinent to mention that the government has approved a separate fund to bear the medical expenses of the cancer patients under J&K Cancer Treatment and Management Fund for Poor (CTMFFP) and J&K Medical Aid Trust (MAT).
The fund provides necessary financial assistance to the people who come from poor backgrounds for cancer treatment and management including surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy in government hospitals.
Under Cancer Treatment and Management Fund for Poor (CTMFFP), only permanent residents of the UT whose family income doesn’t exceed Rs 20,000 per month are eligible to receive the financial assistance.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said that this scheme is immensely useful and appealed to the public to take maximum benefit of this assistance.
Underlining the need to generate mass awareness among the cancer poor patients about the scheme, he asked the concerned officers, AO DC office Kishtwar Imran Ahmed Kichloo to educate the masses about the benefits of the same so that all the eligible persons are covered under the scheme. He also asked them to involve PRIs in the awareness campaign.
