In a fiery speech filled with potshots at the opposition and Congress’s Rahul Gandhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that the BJP government adheres to ‘santushtikaran’ (satisfaction) and not ‘tushtikaran’ (appeasement) amid continuous sloganeering by INDIA bloc MPs.

During the debate on the Motion of Thanks on the President’s address, PM Modi emphasized that the country voted for the NDA due to its zero-tolerance policy towards corruption. He also outlined the agenda for his third term, promising to work tirelessly towards achieving ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) by 2047.

As PM Modi started to speak, opposition members started shouting ‘Justice for Manipur’ and entered the Well of the House in protest. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla was seen chiding Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi for directing members to enter the Well.

Undeterred by the slogans, the Prime Minister trained his guns on the Congress and compared his 10 years of governance to that of the UPA era. “People’s mandate for Congress is to sit where it is, in opposition,” he said amid the thumping of desks from the Treasury benches.
