Chief Engineer BRO Kashmir Brig Saket Singh along with other officials of BRO visits Baltal and Chandwani to take stock of ongoing snow clearance of Amarnath yatra track. He said that due to snow avalanches on the Amarnath travk, they are facing difficulties in snow clearance measures. He further said we will clear all snow from Amarnath track before deadline. Aiming at 15 Jun for completion of the track restoration work Progress on track
All handrails, foot bridges and sign boards will be in place by 15 Jun. Will also try to erect some safety measures at slide points.Where ever track got washed out last year will be restored by 15 Jun.We are currently restoring the track width near Barari Marg.
05 dozers/ Excavators have been employed.More than 900 labours have been working since last one month.
Minor setback in progress due to heavy snow and rains in end Apr and early May will be overcome Chief Engineer BRO Kashmir started work in end Mar 2023. But heavy snow and rains in Apr and May have slowed our progress. Otherwise we would have completed track much before with widening. Now minimum widening is being planned till before Yatra. Balance widening after yatra.
