KATHUA, SEPTEMBER 27: As part of the ongoing SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) campaign aimed at raising awareness about the upcoming assembly elections, the District SVEEP Cell Kathua, in collaboration with the District Information and Public Relations (DIPR) Office, organized a series of Nukkad Nataks in the Kathua town today.
The performances took place at two key locations, Mukherjee Chowk and Jarai Chowk, where talented artists from New Sargam, Social and Culture Club Samba, captivated large crowds with their theme-based Nukkad Natak, Dogri songs, and entertaining mimicries.
The events attracted enthusiastic participation from the public, with commuters, business owners and shopkeepers in attendance.
The series of events kicked off at Mukherjee Chowk, one of the busiest areas in Kathua town. Through their engaging performances, the artists emphasized the importance of voting and highlighted the power of each vote in shaping government and democratic processes.
The Nukkad Natak also addressed the harmful practices of exchanging money or favors for votes, using satire and mimicry of popular Bollywood actors to spread the message. The crowd thoroughly enjoyed the performances while being reminded of the critical role of responsible voting.
The SVEEP campaign continues to focus on enhancing voter participation and ensuring a free and fair electoral process.
