The body of a 14-year-old boy from Assam, who drowned in the Jhelum River four days ago, was retrieved on Saturday. The boy, identified as Muneer ul Islam, son of Babu Ali from Tipu Mari, Assam, had gone missing on August 13 while bathing at Donipora Sangam in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district. A rescue operation was launched immediately after the incident, and after days of efforts, the boy’s body was finally recovered.
The body has been sent to SDH Bijbehara for medical and legal formalities.
