Argentina Hit by Magnitude 6.0 Earthquake, No Casualties Reported

Argentina experienced a 6.0 magnitude earthquake on Saturday, as reported by the National Center for Seismology (NCS). The seismic event took place at 12:50 pm (IST) at a depth of 588 kilometers. The NCS posted on Twitter, providing details: “Magnitude 6.0 earthquake occurred on 05-08-2023 at 12:50:06 IST, located at Lat: -28.20 & Long: -63.24, with a depth of 588 Km, in the region of Argentina.”

No casualties or significant damage have been reported, and additional information is still pending.

In a previous occurrence on July 17, Argentina was struck by a 6.3 magnitude earthquake, according to the National Center for Seismology (NCS). The quake happened at 08:35 am (IST) with a depth of 169 kilometers.

The NCS shared on Twitter, “A 6.3 magnitude earthquake took place on 17-07-2023 at 08:35:11 IST, located at Lat: -38.15 & Long: -70.28, with a depth of 169 Km, in the region of Argentina.”
