Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of the J&K Police, a specialised unit to check the rising menace of drugs, yesterday, recovered a huge quantity of heroin worth crores of rupees.
A statement of the ANTF J&K Police issued here said that on specific information that two drug peddlers Talib Hussain Seer and Muhammad Azim Seer of Amshipora, Shopian, were transporting heroin on a motorcycle (DL5SAP 3926) to sell it among other unknown drugs peddlers at Vehil Shopian, Police Station ANTF Kashmir registered Case FIR No 01/2023 under Section 8/15 and 29 of the NDPS Act.
It said that the ANTF team swung into action and reached Vehil, Shopian where they apprehended the peddlers riding on the motorcycle and recovered 500 gm of heroin worth crores of rupees from their possession.
ANTF said that heroin was concealed underneath the seat of the motorcycle.
