Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vijay Kumar Bidhuri on Saturday said that upcoming elections in Jammu and Kashmir will be conducted in a free and fair manner.
“The administration is anticipating record-breaking voter turnout in the polls,” he said.
He said all preparations regarding the elections are in place and the administration is ready to hold the polls.
“All preparations regarding upcoming elections are in place. Recently the Elections Commission of India (ECI) visited Kashmir and the administration gave a detailed presentation about preparations. The team was satisfied with the preparations in place, and whenever the poll schedule will be announced the elections will be conducted in a free and fair manner,” Divisional Commissioner Kashmir VK Bidhuri as per Greater Kashmir told reporters on the sidelines of a function held in Srinagar.
Bidhuri while responding to a query said the administration has tried its best to ensure adequate electricity supply during Sehri and Iftar times in the holy month of Ramadhan. “The power supply scenario has vastly improved in valley since we had requested people to avoid usage of crude electronic gadgets,” he said.
