2 day multimedia exhibition on AKAM, G-20 presidency, conservation of water concludes at Ramban

The two- day long multimedia exhibition on ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ (AKAM), G-20 presidency and Water conservation programme organised by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India at Maitra Ramban concluded on Thursday.
Chairperson, District Development Council Ramban, Dr Shamshad Shan was the chief guest on the occasion which was dedicated for the awareness about various initiatives being implemented by the Government of India under various sectors including Horticulture, Agriculture, Animal/sheep Husbandry, Social Welfare, ICDS, Health, Education, Information, Banks, ISM and other implementing agencies.
Among others, Joint Director CBC, J&K and Ladakh Ghulam Abbas, FPO, CBC Udhampur, Khursheed Yousuf, CMO Kamal Zadu, Dy. DEO, Lal Chand, CAO, CAHO, CBC, Doda Circle, Vikram Uppal and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
The exhibition was organised for mass awareness about Amrit Mahotsav, G-20 presidency, Jal Jeevan Mission and welfare schemes of the government by the Central Bureau of Communication Doda .
Addressing a gathering of including prominent citizens, officers ASHAs, volunteers and students, Dr Shan appreciated their services and urged them to work for the behavioural change in the society against various social evils like female infanticide, discrimination against girl child, substance abuse and to promote healthy lifestyle among people.
The Chairperson urged the Government to launch Mission Shakti in UT of Jammu and Kashmir to empower the women in all aspects. Appreciating the Central Bureau of Communication to sensitize the people about the freedom struggle of India, Dr. Shan asked them to organize such events in other parts of the district.
Welcoming the guest Joint Director CBC J&K, Ladakh, Ghulam Abbas said that the onus to avail benefits of the Government schemes lies with the citizens. He said that joint efforts of the policy makers, communicators, citizens as well as those responsible for implementation at the ground level is needed to ensure the welfare Schemes serve the intended purpose.
Meanwhile, Additional Superintendent of Police, Gourav Mahajan presented a detailed overview about drug abuse and efforts made by the District and police department to control drug trafficking and drug abuse by the youth.
Assistant Director Employment, Sushant Majahan laid special emphasis on employment oriented schemes of the Government and impressed upon the people to avail benefits of different schemes. The other speakers also highlighted various programmes and achievements of the Government.
The artists from CBC, J&K presented colourful theme based singing and dance items, while an open quiz competition was also organized which witnessed a huge participation of youth. The programme culminated with prize distribution.
