The Zojila Pass has been thrown open for vehicular movement, with 284 passengers crossing towards Kargil, officials said on Wednesday.
As per the latest traffic advisory issued for the Zojila Axis, movement of vehicles resumed. Around 80 vehicles carrying 284 passengers have successfully crossed the pass towards Kargil, they said.
An official said that the road had been cleared of snow, making it safe for travel. However, weather conditions in the area can change rapidly, and travellers are advised to exercise caution and adhere to all traffic advisories.
The Zojila Axis is a vital link between Srinagar and Kargil, and its closure often disrupts the essential movement of people and goods.
