In other parts of the state, Tiruttani sweltered at 41.1 degrees celsius, said The Hindu report. Even Madurai, Nagapattinam and Cuddalore districts have witnessed the mercury rising to nearly 40 degrees on Saturday. However, light showers in the evening brought a respite to the people of Chennai.
