Yatris express joy as after days Amarnath Yatra resumes from Jammu

The Amarnath Yatra has resumed after being suspended for three days due to inclement weather in Jammu on Tuesday.

Several stranded batch of pilgrims in Samba, Kathua, Bhagwati Nagar and various areas of Jammu have been signalled green to leave for the Yatra in Kashmir as weather improved there.

“We are from Saharanpur and have been stuck here since 7th July. Our bus will be allowed to move after the former one.

“We are 48 pilgrims in two buses who came here. This is my second Amarnath Yatra”,  an Amarnath devotee said.

“This is the 5th time I’m participating in the Yatra. I have determined to have darshan of the holy cave, even if it takes several days”, one of the pilgrim added.

“All of us are happy that the pilgrimage which was stopped from 5-6 days has been resumed, as we firmly determined to not return back without paying obeisance”, said Anshu Kumar, another pilgrim.

“I have been attending the holy excursion from last 32 years, I am from Up’s Prayagraj. Every year we come to the Yatra.

“The authorities should take our stock as we have been staying in a private park”, an elderly pilgrim apprised.

“We salute J&K police and army because of them this Yatra has become successful and Yatris reach successfully to the holy Amarnath cave.

“We faced hurdles when Yatra got stopped but this is not on local regime because it was suspended due to bad weather.

“The local police and security forces have done a commendable job, where we are staying is cordoned by army”, a pilgrim remarked.
