The water level of the Yamuna river on Sunday morning was measured at 206.02 meters, surpassing the danger level of 205.33 meters. The Central Water Commission predicted that the water level would further rise to 205.75 meters by 10 pm today. As Delhi grappled with unprecedented flooding, the city received additional rainfall on Saturday evening, with more rain expected on Sunday.

Despite the rain on Saturday, there was no significant increase in the water levels of the Yamuna river. The AAP government of Delhi and the BJP government of Haryana engaged in a debate, with AAP claiming that the excess release of water from the Hathnikund Barrage was intentional, while the BJP denied this allegation.

Upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s return to Delhi from abroad, he contacted Lt Governor VK Saxena to receive updates on the flood-like situation in the city. An official stated that the Prime Minister discussed the status of the situation and the progress made in mitigation efforts.

Normal water supply in the Capital resumed on Sunday, as the water treatment plants at Wazirabad and Chandrawal were scheduled to begin functioning on that day.

Amidst a heated political clash between the AAP and BJP, the AAP ministers accused the IAS officers of not cooperating with the government during the crisis. Screenshots of WhatsApp messages sent to Divisional Commissioner Ashwani Kumar went viral, prompting Kumar to respond. He described the allegations against him as unfortunate and expressed his willingness to take responsibility for his actions without blaming others.
