While the release date for iOS 17 is yet to be revealed, Apple is expected to roll out the update to iPhones in fall 2023, and this will most likely happen in mid-September, similar to previous years. The iPhone 15 series will likely ship with the latest software out of the box. Here is all we know so far.
The latest iOS version brings a new Live Voicemail feature with live transcription, which basically means that one will be able to check real-time live translation of the recording. One of the useful updates coming to FaceTime is that it will leave video messages if someone misses a call. iMessages has also been updated with search filters and people will be able to reply to a message by just swiping the text. The audio messages now also get automatically transcribed. The users can also now share locations on iMessage as a new location sharing feature has been added to the app. Additionally, one will also see a new design for iMessage app, hiding apps and the camera which is located behind a + button in iMessage.
What else? One will be able to use maps in offline mode too. iPhone users will now be able to create stickers of subjects from any photo. One can also make “Live stickers” using motion photos. The good thing is the stickers will also work in third-party apps, which was not the case before. There are also improvements in AirDrop. One can swap phone number with someone new using AirDrop. All you need to do is bring phones close together to share number and email addresses.
