World Boxing Championships: Lovlina Borgohain advances to 75kg finals after beating China’s Li Qian

India’s Lovlina Borgohain advanced to the final of the World Boxing Championships after beating China’s Li Qian in the 75kg category semi-finals. She won the match 4-1 against the Tokyo Olympics silver medallist by a split decision.

Lovlina won the first round, after which her Chinese opponent struck back in the second. The Indian boxer held her nerve to come up trumps in the final round. She has already assured India a silver medal and would be fighting for gold in the final. It will also be the first time that Lovlina fights in the final of the WBC.
