Harmanpreet Kaur, on February 20, became the third Indian batter to score 3000 runs in T20Is. She accomplished the feat in India’s Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 Group B match against Laura Delany’s Ireland at St George’s Park in Gqeberha.
Kaur was seven runs short of the milestone before the match against Ireland and she got there without much fuss. She hit Orla Prendergast on to the leg side for a single to get to the milestone. The veteran became the first Indian woman to achieve the milestone in T20Is.After reaching the 3000-run mark, Harmanpreet joined Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma among Indians with as many runs in the shortest format of the game. Moreover, she became the third batter after New Zealand’s Suzie Bates, Australia’s Meg Lanning and West Indies’ Stafanie Taylor to score over 3000 runs in Women’s T20Is.
