Woman dies after house collapses in Udhampur

Jammu: A woman died after the roof of house collapsed in Latti area of Udhampur this morning.
The deceased was identified as Anju Devi, wife of Ratan Lal resident of Pattan Garh, Tehsil Latti, Udhampur.
According to the report, the incident occurred at 4am at Pattan Garh village Tehsil Latti in Udhampur when a mud house roof collapsed, resulting in on spot death of a woman while critical injuries to her four family members. The house collapsed due to deteriorating condition of the roof’s wood.
After the incident, when police got information about the incident the Latti police station SHO Zulfikar arrived at the scene with his police team for rescue operation, but sadly the woman succumbed to her wounds before the police arrival.
However, the police rushed the other injured family members of the deceased to Primary Health Centre Latti, where after receiving first aid Ratan Lal (deceased’s husband) was referred to GMC, Udhampur for further treatment
The police have registered a case and are investigating this case.
