Former India opener Aakash Chopra has criticized the Indian selectors for not providing clarity on why Sarfaraz Khan has been excluded from India’s Test squad for the upcoming West Indies series. Sarfaraz was left out of the 16-man squad announced for the two Tests against West Indies. Many former greats and fans were outraged by Sarfaraz Ahmed’s omission from the Test team against WI.

“What should Sarfaraz do? If you see the first-class runs for the last three years, if the guy was going head and shoulders above the rest and scoring a lot of runs everywhere, and if he is not selected, what message does it send? This is a question worth asking,” Chopra said in his YouTube video.

Sarfaraz Khan, a top-order batsman, has scored 3505 runs in 37 first-class matches at an average of 79.65. He has been in excellent form in recent years but has not been selected for the Indian team. There have been reports that he was previously excluded due to fitness issues, but no official reason for his exclusion has been given.

“If there is something else that you or I don’t know, then I would say make it public, that you didn’t like this thing about Sarfaraz and because of which you are not considering him and you will be able to consider him going forward if he rectifies that. Is there anything like that – I or you don’t know?”
