BLK Hospital reported an increase in the number of patients with symptoms like cough, cold and fever.
Viral risk increased due to changing weather
Dr. Sandeep Nair, director and HOD of the Chest and Respiratory Department of BLK Hospital, said that the daily number of patients with symptoms like cough, cold and fever is increasing in the OPD.
The doctor said that at this time the weather is favorable for the spread of any viral or infection. This is the reason why there has been a spurt in infections and viral cases.
Do not ignore these symptoms
He said that if symptoms like cough, fever or cold persist, do not ignore them and consult a doctor as soon as possible. These infections enter our body through mouth and nose and first affect our lungs. He also advised to avoid going to crowded places.
People need to be careful
Sandeep Nair said that for the last several months people have stopped wearing masks, which is the biggest reason for increasing cases.
Meanwhile, Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya also advised people to be cautious in view of the current Covid situation. Mandaviya said on Monday that people need to be vigilant amid rising cases of Covid sub-variant Omicron.
