Desh Bhagat University, the esteemed institution housing Desh Bhagat Dental College and Hospital (DBDCH), recently organized its White Coat Ceremony for newly admitted students of BDS First Professional Batch of 2023. The event marked an important milestone in the journey of budding dental professionals.
Event was inaugurated by DBU Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tejinder Kaur. Chief Guest of event Dr. Santosh Kumari, Senior Regional Director IGNOU regional center Khanna was accompanied by Dr. Manju Goyal, Regional Director, and Dr. Pramesh Chandra Asst. Regional Director IGNOU.
Dr. Unnati Pitale, Principal of DBDCH, has formally welcomed the dignitaries and highlighted the importance of white coat ceremony. Thereafter white coats were worn by all the students of BDS first professionals’ batch 2023 by present dignitaries.
Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh, delivering an inspirational address, emphasized the significance of the white coat, symbolizing responsibility and the journey towards becoming a proficient doctor. He encouraged the students to embrace their roles with dedication and meticulousness, reminding them of the importance of continuous growth and service to humanity.
Dr. Santosh Kumari, in her remarks to the students, highlighted the commencement of their professional journey and the symbolism associated with donning the white coat. She emphasized the values of respect, responsibility, honor, and compassion, urging the students to persevere in the face of challenges, as hard work inevitably leads to success. She also emphasized the importance of recognizing the value in every educational institution and profession.
Additionally, Dr. Sukhpal Kaur and Dr. Rajneesh were recognized and awarded for their outstanding contributions to an essay writing competition, while students Ranjan Kumar and Vasupali Nikita received the first prize. Dr. Akash was honored for his exceptional work in poster making. Winners of various inter-class competitions were also awarded. Nikhil Rana, a student, delivered a captivating performance on stage, adding to the vibrancy of the event, while Vice principal of the college Dr. Ajit Pal Singh extended a heartfelt vote of thanks. Before this Anatomy Department of DBDCH organized a Cadaveric oath ceremony. The students paid homage to the person who donated his body for the educational purpose.
